Dr. Talat is Project Director and founder of Nishan Rehab International, Pakistan. He has graduated from Sindh Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan. Previously he worked as Medical Doctor at Willing Ways, Islamabad, working in drug addiction treatment field for last couple of decades. Dr. Talat is recognized drug addiction treatment professional in Pakistan. His organization is providing drug addiction, alcoholism and attitudinal healing services in capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad. Nishan is only organization in Pakistan working on attitudinal healing and is one of the criteria, our treatment results are satisfactory. Dr. Talat’s trainings are based on guidance of Hazelden, USA including intervention, assertiveness, tough love, crucial conversations, NLP and 12 Step Model addiction treatment. Martin Peters

Martin is a UK national who has worked in a variety of settings within the Healthcare sector since 1994. After receiving his BA (Hons) in Social Policy and Administration from the University of Plymouth (UK), his studies and passion for working with people led on to a Diploma of Higher Education in Nursing Studies with Registered Nurse status from the University of the West of England (UK). Martin has continued to undertake further professional development, obtaining numerous Nurse & Midwifery Council accredited certifications in Mental Health and Healthcare Management. He has also undertaken a number of courses in CBT, Addictions, Relapse Prevention and Psychotherapy.

Martin began his career working with people with a dual diagnosis of mental health and mental handicap. He then went on to apply his skills in the UK prison system. His interest in working with offenders developed, and he moved to a Medium Secure Service in Forensic Mental Health where he worked with clients with mental health and substance misuse issues as a Unit Manager.

In subsequent years, Martin worked with Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust as a Community Psychiatric Nurse in various settings within the NHS—including as Senior Nurse on a 46 bed Acute Admissions Unit. Throughout his career, Martin has worked with people who have required support and guidance in a number of difficult and challenging situations. An experienced one-to-one and group worker in community and residential settings, Martin assists people in empowering themselves to live a life free from the grip of addiction and illness, working with complementary, modern, and traditional approaches incorporating best clinical practice. Martin has also had a wide range of experience in management and supervisory roles within established healthcare systems, and has provided consultancy services to a number of private and public sector organizations in the UK in terms of management, policy writing, accreditation and recruitment.

Martin’s addictions experience has been in developing inpatient services over the past 4 years, both clinical and operational, and has been instrumental in expanding and developing a non 12 step inpatient treatment centre and opening a further inpatient centre with a 12 step approach. , implementing KIPU Electronic Records, strengthening hospital partnerships, introducing a  Scholarship for students under the Masters in Addiction Studies Program at The ASEAN Institute for Health Development and working with an international accreditation body. Martin has also been a speaker at several international conferences on addiction, including ASEAN conferences and has also guest lectured at Mahidol University, Sargodha University, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and has been a representative on the CARF Standards Advisory Committee for 2016.

A firm believer in program development and multi-disciplinary work, Martin is currently working with a group of leading professionals in developing a new inpatient program, and working with existing programs to develop standards to improve clinical and operational care.

Psychotherapy is a method of helping people when they become stressed, have emotional problems or feel ‘stuck’ and may be repeating unhelpful behaviour.  Psychotherapy aims to help clients gain insight into their difficulties or distress through talking with a trained psychotherapist, establishing a better understanding of their motivation, enabling them to find alternative ways of coping or bringing about changes in how they think and behave.

Rukhsana Khan, is a Psychotherapy Practitioner based in Greater Manchester, UK. She has a natural desire to understand her clients and their unique issues.  She is trained in and practices Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy.

She has been clinically endorsed since May 2013 and has practices in Rochdale and Manchester.  She also practiced within the NHS as a psychotherapy practitioner in a hospital setting where she observes and assists children and young adults. She is currently working for NHS in a hospital based in Wigan, UK to offer her service for Adults.

In her professional career, she has achieved a 4 year diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy in June 2015 from Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy, UK.  In addition she has achieved a B.A in Psychology and Economics from Multan, Pakistan. Her second degree was a B.Sc (Hons) in Psychological Studies from the University of Huddersfield UK.  She also holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Bolton, UK. Her success is based on her passion, persistence and diligence in building her career as a lecturer in Psychology, a counselor and a psychotherapist.

Her personal and professional life experiences have enabled her psychotherapy career to excel to a much greater depth with regards to knowledge and understanding.  She grew up with having witnessed two of her closest and dearest family members suffering from serious types of psychotic disorders. These personal experiences occurring in her family had enabled her to observe and understand their respective and differing treatments and alternative therapies available through observing what they had undergone and the ultimate recovery stages they had managed to reach. Therefore she has gained full experience in how to help people move forward with their lives.

She works and specialises with people experiencing the following types of difficulties:

  • Addiction and alcoholism
  • Anxiety problems
  • Depression and low mood
  • Long standing interpersonal relationship difficulties
  • Attachment issues
  • Consequences of childhood abuse
  • Problems concerning low self -esteem.

She is an accredited member of the United Kingdom Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA)British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and Asia-Pacific Society of Alcohol & Addiction Research (APSAAR)

She is a regular invitee on national and international conferences.

Her service for Nishan Foundation is voluntary coordination based in the UK. She will be conducting online sessions for UK based clients and helping them to make decisions regarding their or their loved one’s drug rehab.





Ms. Aqsa Yaqoob Khan

Therapeutic Counselor

Ms. Aqsa Yaqoob Khan is working as a Therapeutic Counselor in clinical setup for Nishan rehab, Islamabad. Having got graduated from Punjab University in 2013, she completed her masters in Applied Psychology from International Islamic University, 2015.

She aims to reduce the distress and improve the psychological well-being of psychiatric clients. She has strong communication ability to work positively and therapeutically with a wide range of clientele. She uses different psychological methods appropriate for the client at hand to make positive changes to their lives. Her aptitude is in a wide range of clinical tasks including patient assessment, interventions, counseling and behavior modification. She has expertise in differential diagnosis, psychological assessment and tools and various psychotherapies. Ms. Aqsa is also expert at conducting one-on-one therapy sessions, family sessions, group therapy and activities.
